STORY: Circular Barrels of Hay and Windmills are commonly found on the vast Australian Rural Landscape. In most cases the Hay is cut twice a year, using a round Baler, at farms across the country. This is called hay baling and typically happens late summer and early autumn. The round shape sheds water allowing the hay to be stored outside and easily unravels for feed out. The earliest Windmills were used to grind grain and by driving a pump draw up water from wells. Early agriculture in the arid Australian outback would have been almost impossible without them. An Impressionist style of Artwork was chosen to blend together these rural landscape features. Prior to European arrival the Gunditjmara aboriginals lived in the area.
