Story
This stunning wallpaper at the Commandant’s House in Port Arthur is a reproduction of the original 1845 design. I loved the symmetrical, three-dimensional effect, which appears like finely carved timber. It adds a stately atmosphere to this beautiful house and the warm colours make for a more cosy environment. When standing here, it’s easy to see how important these homely touches would have been when living in this remote corner of the world.
