Paradox Collections David Bust

29 x 20 x 20cms Carved in marble between 1501 and 1504 by Michelangelo. Unlike other earlier Renaissance depictions of David, where he is shown victorious in battle with Goliath, Michelangelo chose to show him pre-battle. It was originally commissioned to be positioned on the roofline of Florence Cathedral as one of a series of statues of prophets. However, due to its weight of over six-tonnes it was placed in a public square outside the Palazzo Vecchio, Florence. Our resin David bust is a faithful reproduction of one of the most well know Renaissance sculptures.
