5545 - Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX Desert Airstrip The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX was a British one-seated fighter plane used during World War II. It was one of the most famous combat aircrafts of that period. The Mk. IX version had an improved engine and included a new gyroscopic sight. It also had two additional fuel tanks at the back of the hull, enlarged rudder and a lowered back of the hull with lowered cockpit canopy. In this new COBI set you will find a block model of the plane that features rotating flaps, easy-to-open pilot cockpit, rotating propeller and retractable landing gear.
