Bluyonda Silk Scarves SILK HABOTAI SCARF: Kangas-HA
DIMENSIONS: Panoramic 160cmX25cm.
PHOTOGRAPHY: September 2011 at the Warrumbungle National Park, New South Wales, Australia.
STORY: This image was taken very early in the morning with the Kangaroos backlit by the sun. I found that when I clapped my hands the majority of Kangaroos looked around. It was great to shoot so many Kangaroos together with amazing light behind them. The Warrumbungle ( Aboriginal Gamilaroi name meaning “Crooked Mountains”) National Park is a photographers goldmine with abundant native Australian wildlife. The Eastern Grey Kangaroo is an iconic marsupial mammal living in mobs of 10 or more. It is found over most of the Eastern States in habitats ranging from semi-arid scrub to woodlands. “Aussies” like to shorten words and Kangaroos are often referred to as “Kangas”. For this design the Kangas were photographed just after sunrise and blended with the bush colours.
