STORY: The Stamps celebrating the Olympic and Commonwealth Games. These are among the first stamps I saved as a child – so the challenge was to create a scarf that was artistic and lovely to look at. The first Australian Olympic themed stamps depicting the Melbourne cityscape were issued to celebrate the 1956 Olympics. In1962 a set of two stamps were issued for the Commonwealth Games in Perth, one featuring native flora a Kangaroo Paw and the other The Coat of Arms of Perth. THIS 100% PURE SILK CHIFFON SCARF (AWTA Tested) is 8mm (35gms per square metre) which is slightly heavier with superior colour and durability than the standard 6mm (26gms per square metre). It has a plain-weave, is smooth, absolutely sheer with a subtle silky sheen, drapes well yet feels weightless against the skin. Silk Twill, Silk Habotai and Silk Tabbi are different in weight, touch, sheen and feel.
