STORY: The Black Swan is a large waterbird with black plumage, except for its wingtips and red bill. It is native to Australia, breeding mainly in the southeast and southwest and is a national icon, as well as being the state bird of Western Australia. Swans are symbols for many beautiful qualities such as grace, purity, love and freedom and Black Swans are also linked to occult symbolism. Swans usually mate for life and only when a partner dies may they take up another partner. This scarf design, with its white background, highlights a special moment captured on film of the swans embodying the spirit of love.
