STORY: The Eastern Grey Kangaroo is an iconic marsupial mammal living in mobs of 10 or more. Kangaroos engage in “boxing” over mating rites and other mostly territorial disputes. During a "boxing" bout, a kangaroo can actually balance his entire body on his tail, kicking forward with his powerful legs.The “boxing” kangaroo has become a national symbol for Australia particularly at sporting events. Aussies like to shorten words and Kangaroos are often referred to as “Roos” or “Kangas”.
